Compassionate Therapy for Individuals Struggling with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Relationship Difficulties.

At Cascade Psychotherapy, I work with clients to help them decrease their intense emotional responses.

Learning about emotions seems simple, but we tend to overlook the intricacy of what we feel and why. Many of my clients learn that their emotional responses run deeper. Understanding how past experiences with family, relationships, or trauma impact you today will uncover why you feel so anxious, hopeless, mad, or sad so frequently. We tend to label our emotions as over the top and unnecessary when we don’t accurately know where they actually originate from.

We also need to understand that fear of emotions magnifies them. Learning to decrease or eliminate certain emotional responses requires a paradox approach. Validate it, reduce your fear of it, welcome the emotion in, apply skills to regulate it’s intensity, and over time, notice that emotion diminish or stop.

“But I Dont have trauma, So why do I still struggle to control my emotions, or oppositely, have a hard time showing them?”

Learn to feel your emotions, not fear and fight against them.

Booking your first appointment with a therapist can be scary. We don’t know what to expect, worry about judgment, or have questions about pricing and insurance coverage.

Other times, we have seen a therapist before and it wasn’t what we hoped it to be. Valid things such as personality, education, and experience impact the success of therapy.

I pride myself on transparency. If I don’t feel I am going to be the right therapist for you, I am happy to utilize my network of professionals to connect you to the right therapist.

Therapy is pricey and time consuming, so let’s take the time to ensure we don’t waste yours.
